Bookish Features WWW Wednesdays

WWW Wednesday: January 9, 2019

Happy hump day, bookworms! It’s almost Friday Jr., and thank goodness for that. It’s also time for my WWW Wednesday, which if you don’t already know, is a weekly reading update hosted by Taking on a World of Words. Today we’ll discuss which books I read recently, which ones I’m currently reading, and which I plan to read next.

1. What book did you read last?

The book I finished most recently is Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo. This was a re-read for me, and I enjoyed it about as much as last time. There was a lot of Nikolai swooning. My criticism mirrored my feelings last time as well. I’ll talk more about that in my review, which should be up early next week.

2. What book are you currently reading?

I’m currently in the middle of V.E. Schwab’s Vengeful, and it’s everything I hoped it would be. I’m planning on finishing it by this weekend, so fingers crossed that Let’s Go Eevee doesn’t distract me too much.

I also recently picked up Carolyn Mackler’s The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big Round Things on a whim. I’m not super far into it, but I am enjoying the snarky narrative voice and awkward teenage moments. I think I’m going to like this one!

3. What book do you plan to read next?

If I’m going to get through the Grisha books before King of Scars comes out, I need to pick up Ruin and Rising and Six of Crows next. Both are re-reads, and both are favorites of mine. I’m pumped to dive back into them, and I’m even more pumped to actually review them this time around! Hopefully, I can form coherent thoughts about Six of Crows this time.

That’s it! What books have you been reading lately? Let me know in the comments below!
