Halloween BOOOOOOk Tag!

THIS IS HALLOWEEN. THIS IS HALLOWEEN. I can sing that now because it’s actually the best day of the year. I wanted to do something bookish for my blog to celebrate the occasion, so I figured, what’s better than a book tag? I spotted this tag over on Literary Weaponry, so go check them out.

Favorite horror book:
Quite honestly, I don’t read enough horror books. Of the few I’ve actually picked up, The Shining by Stephen King is probably most memorable.

Scariest moment from a book you’ve read:
Was anyone else shitting when Bathilda Bagshot turned into a snake? Because that scene is pretty darned creepy.

Have you dressed up as a book character for Halloween?
I’ve done the Black Canary, who is technically a comic book character. And I’ve dressed as a member of the Scouts regiment from Attack on Titan. I’m counting graphic novels and comic books and going with yes!

What do you think your favorite fictional character would dress up as for Halloween?
Tyrion would totally be a dragon. Or too cool to dress up for Halloween, technically making him a hipster?

What’s your favorite type of horror?
I love a decent ghost story, but psychological thrillers are also pretty high on my list.

If books were cheap as candy, which books would you give out to trick or treaters?
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and Goosebumps! Wow, that would be an amazing world.

My Halloween TBR:
House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski, We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson, The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson, and IT by Stephen King – even though I’m probably only reading one of these for Halloween (if I’m lucky).

Recommend some Halloween reads:
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman, The Shining by Stephen King, and the YA anthology, Slasher Boys & Monster Girls.

Your turn! Steal this tag, and recommend me some Halloweenish books in the comments below.
